The first case of the new iPad Mini 5 emerges online, a 7.9-inch tablet that Apple could present in the spring of 2019.
Apple would really be willing to launch an iPad Mini 5 in the coming months. After the rumors circulated last week, ready to indicate a presentation in the spring in conjunction with a 10-inch tablet, the first device case is now online . The publication comes from Slashleakes and shows the design that could characterize the new 7.9-inch device.
In terms of size, the new iPad Mini 5 does not seem to depart from previous generations, with a virtually similar form factor. From the images of the case appeared online, however, important factors emerge that could suggest the hardware features of the tablet.
It starts with a large hole for the rear camera , placed vertically on the case, a fact that could suggest not only the presence of the classic lens, but also an LED flash as is the case for the iPad Pro line. Still, there seem to be fissures to support four speakers, as well as fortunately a space dedicated to the headphone jack . In other words, the new iPad Mini 5 may look more like a miniature iPad Pro – at least by reference to pre-2018 versions – rather than the classic 9.7-inch iPads.
But it’s not all, because the case also shows special housings for the Smart Connector , a communication port that allows you to associate several official Apple accessories, including a Smart Keyboard. At the moment, however, it is not known whether the tablet will be offered with Apple Pencil support, of first or second generation.
As already anticipated, the new iPad Mini 5 could be launched in the spring , when Apple traditionally updates its line of cheap iPads. In the last two years, in fact, Apple has chosen March and April to present the 2017 and 2018 editions of the 9.7-inch iPad, obtaining great success among consumers given the reduced costs of these devices.
